And no dangerous kissing was had this week. All in all, I am proud of my resistance.
Also proud of my brand new coffee maker...that I bought at a second hand store. I like to think this would've been a small way of making my mother both proud and frustrated at the same time. But - hey, good coffee in the morning? Who doesn't love that?!
Speaking of love, 'tis the season soon, I believe, and...well, I never imagined I wouldn't spend it with my brother. It's always been just us, when there wasn't anyone else, and this time it's just me. Brooding might happen. I'm pretty sure brooding shouldn't happen on Christmas - it feels more like a Valentine's Day sort of emotion, or a general one, depending on who we're talking about.
Anyway! I am going to just go ahead and tell everyone that I'll be sending out - or delivering - holiday postcards. So just leave your name and location if you want one, and I promise they will not all match the colour of my hair.

Not sure you'd want one with me.
[ under-selling actual ability? yes. ]
What kind of dancing?

But seriously? I'm more than a little rusty.

At the beginning, she'd only mentioned dancing as a joke, but now she's starting to realize that yes, she does miss it. Last time she danced just for fun, and not to summon one demon or the other, it had been before everything had tipped over in her life. And while she loves the Goblin Market, and loves her brother, and loves the Ryves - safe to say, by this point - enough to figure out plans like moving chesspieces on a board and winning for them, now she's here alone.
If she wanted to, she wouldn't even have to let on that she's special. If she wanted to, she could blend in. If she wanted to, at one point, she could even talk about Annabel as if Jamie wasn't going to hear about the grim future accidentally. There's a lot of things she could do, if she wanted to.]
I want to dance with you, Arthur. I know it's shocking, I'm pretty surprised myself that I haven't been out and about before. But if I ever find you in the pubs of places I go to, you better be sure to have some oil on you for your rusty limbs, because it will happen.

I'll hold you to that then. I haven't danced in a while but hopefully it's like riding a bicycle.
[ He's in shape at least, if nothing else. Another pause before he sort of tests the water by asking, ]
You said you're surprised. Did you dance a lot at home, or...?

So don't worry, you'll be in good hands.

Raves?
[ He wonders if in 'Exeter' these are different from the raves he is colloquially familiar with..... ]

[ Dry as a desert tone. ]
What is a 'rave' in Exeter?
[ JUST CHECKING... ]

I'd say drinks and other things, but you seem ready to faint over that idea.

No fainting from this side of the room. Sounds like what raves are where I'm from too.
Guess I was expecting it to be different, somehow.
