Thank you to the City, for not putting me in any bad fanfiction this month. Thank you to the people who have stood by my side as friends, old and new, and reminded me that though I will always pick myself up in any situation, it's nice to have backup.

Thank you to my toaster, you have not let me starve. Thank you to Jamie, wherever he is - and hoping he's safe, or has me with him - for not having ruined the toaster completely, and thus making it possible for his sister to eat even when there were few who thought it probable. Thank you to the City library, because though you don't always give me the books I want, they're entertaining enough, and at least I'm getting something. Thank you to my lovely new boss, whose food I will be eating gladly today.

Thank you to all the people of the male persuasion that seem to think I'm charming - you do lift up a girl's spirits.

Oh, and I suppose, another thank you to the City, for not having me cursed in a month.

Except I'm starting to believe this is a curse in itself. So much gratitude being expressed.

It would be - unless they used the water in that river for bathing. Then it would be a sticky situation.
