013 ⇨ burn the house down?
video ⇨ public;

So, that just happened.
[the camera switches focus around until it's set on the kitchen table and she's sitting in front of it.] But I have to thank Donna Noble, for braving cooking classes with me - a noble attempt, as evidenced by the pot I've just rendered useless.
Time. My problem is probably time. I forgot the rice was there, left it on too long, and now...it's time to order some take-out.
Which brings me to my next thought - I'm going to have to find a job, if I'm to live on Chinese food.

lalalalalaaaate
Lucy, is it?
Noooo worries
Yup! Lucy Locke. Mae, right?

That's right. Mine is, unfortunately, not a name that leads to aliterations, but not everyone's lucky.

My mom had too many drugs in the delivery room or was possibly convinced I'd grow up to be a comic book super hero. Besides, yours is pretty and I love your hair.
Anyway, job. It's fairly easy going. Say hi to people when they walk in. Encourage them to try all the lotions and stuff. If we get low on something, stock it. Have you worked a cash register before?

Right - back to the point. No on the register, but I think I can be friendly and convincing to customers, and I can learn the rest.

[She's curious about why]
Register is pretty easy anyway. It's a big computer and it'll tell you how much change to give back.
Okay, well you're cute and you're willing to learn. The job's yours if you want it. You can start tomorrow. I pay every two weeks, a little above minimum wage.

[She shrugs, hoping the information is enough. She grins, resisting the urge to clap her hands - this is good. This is filling up her time with a different type of routine. Hopefully, she won't invest too much into becoming a workaholic - too many family incidents of that - but it's something. And it's money aside, too.]
Wicked - what time should I be here, then?

Do you want to work mornings or nights? I'm pretty okay with either. We close just before it gets dark because no one ought to be around alone.
OH! Do you know Jace? He's a half naked boy that acts as decoration. He'll be in and out of here. He sort of sells things but he usually acts annoyed by it so I'd really rather he just stand around and look pretty.

Okay, then. I'll take the late shifts, to be sure that I actually come to work fresh as a rose.

[Lucy glances at her schedule and nods.] Okay then evening shift will start at 2:00. That gives you about four hours of work before it starts getting dark.
