[There's a living room, and a couch, and a cup of tea on the table (unseen), and in the middle of the couch, there's Mae. Knees pulled up to her chest, chin pressed against one knee, expression almost blank as she looks at the screen. After a long pause, she sighs and looks down.]
Well, I've been able to find a new device after mine was...boggled up. Let's say I retired it to a better life. Something like that - does it work? Does that sound... [Another sigh, and she hides her face for a moment. A huff of laughter, then she looks up, eyes puffy.]
I haven't quite figured how to be clever and witty and funny when my biggest support is gone. I am glad they managed to escape this place, anyone can tell that we don't belong here, and to think that Alan and Jamie were here long before I - [She shakes her head to focus.] Anyway, yes. And then there was one.
[She uncurls, feet pressed against the floor, and leans over to pick the device.] Give me a few weeks before I become operational again.
[And the feed cuts off there.]
[ooc; Explanation for her long absence - she might have thrown the device out of her window when she realized Alan, Nick and Jamie (especially Jamie) had left the City. Lonely Mae is a new thing. So let's see.]

Re: action;
[He just smirks and walks inside, putting the pie on the table.] Sweetheart, you're still jail bait. I might flirt with you but you're a little young for anything more.
action;
[She snorts and closes the door behind her. This is her apartment now. Just hers. At least it's not empty right now.]
That sounds about right. I'm definitely not at my best with the ability to flirt back today.
Re: action;
It's okay. I do alright without any encouragement. Nice place.
action;
And only half of that isn't a lie.

Re: action;
[And he pauses awkwardly a moment.] So you gonna be okay here, Sweetheart?
action;
Hmm? Yeah, I'll be fine. [She shrugged a little, and waved dissmissively.] It will take a while, and I am not the bravado-filled macho who will swear up and down to be perfectly fine despite the huge knife plunged in his back, but...
The point is that I'll recover. It's what I do, really. Get right back up on my feet, adapt - [Finally, she ventured a smile.] And eat pie, of course.
