011 ⇨ falling down falling down

[So there's Mae, standing under one big oak tree in the park - one of the City parks - kicking absentmindedly at the fallen leaves. Autumn spirit's kicking in, she's got a bag with a new scarf in her hand, and a book taken out from the library.

That'll be for later. Meanwhile, the pile of leaves continues to grow.]

Must be symbolic, really. There's supposed to be a cycle - circle of life, and everything - that all living things must go through.

But of course, things don't work that way in the City.

[ooc; video or action is fine, I think.]

Or autumn is rather overenthusiastic, this year.

It's a little disturbing. They won't stop.

I would say I feel rather bad for those living on the ground floor.

A new type of flood.

So to speak. I didn't think these trees had so many leaves, though it seems rather ominous to what the winter months might hold.

Oh god - I hadn't thought of that. Guess it's a good thing I bought a scarf.

Suppose someone ought to invest in a plow.

[identity profile] dude-imbatman.livejournal.com 2011-08-31 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe they just want us to rake a shitload of leaves.

[identity profile] brobeforehos.livejournal.com 2011-08-31 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
If this persists, which hopefully it won't.

[identity profile] brobeforehos.livejournal.com 2011-08-31 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
For free. The deviants.

I was thinkin' more slave drivers.

[identity profile] brobeforehos.livejournal.com 2011-08-31 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, no - I don't think so. If they were that, we'd be forced to rake them up. As it is, it's just a hint.

[identity profile] dude-imbatman.livejournal.com 2011-08-31 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Guess you've got a point. They haven't shown up with the shackles and cattle prods yet.

There are some things not worth being hopeful for, I think, when it comes to the City.

I like my tea with a lump of optimism. I know it's not much defense against this place, but a British cynic is so overdone.

One of us here has to be on the jaded side of realistic.

Ah, yes. The word of wisdom. [and age.]

All living things?

[identity profile] brobeforehos.livejournal.com 2011-08-31 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
It's the general consensus, I think.

[personal profile] synanthrope 2011-08-31 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure there are living things in this City that would disagree with you.

[identity profile] brobeforehos.livejournal.com 2011-08-31 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Immortal living things?
synanthrope: (Saya - legs akimbo)

Yes. Things that by nature cannot die naturally.

[identity profile] brobeforehos.livejournal.com 2011-08-31 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
But it's there, isn't it? The end of the line, for everyone? At some point...
synanthrope: (Saya - vaguely amused)

[personal profile] synanthrope 2011-08-31 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't like to assume things. But why do you think that must happen to everyone?
